finally i bought lovers and strangers. I've been thinking of writing project paper on this book/ one of the short story. Still i need my supervisor's approval. I love "The Station Hotel" but "On Fridays" for me was an abrupt ending.

The "On Fridays" story is about obsession and the ending shows that -- he's obsessed with this girl; she dominates his paintings. It's not about loneliness, or him trying to find some lost love; it's gone beyond that.
This story has been been taught in several universities and it's often mentioned as one of the
best stories; one readers can easily relate, too.
"The Station Hotel" went through a massive rewrite, nearly doubling the length of the story from the originally published story when I revisited it. It's always been a favorite of mine because my staying at that hotel inspired a great setting and all I had to do was come up with a suitable story!
